Activities & Leisure
Every Monday the Activities Co-Ordinators run a Cognitive Stimulation Therapy (CST) group which allows residents to get involved in conversations about a variety of different topics from money, cars and holidays to jobs, home life and hobbies. This group is excellent for reminiscing and stimulating the mind, and generally having a good chin wag.
Many of the activities that are provided are work-based activities looking at the hobbies and jobs each resident used to have and tailoring the activities to each individual. These could be simple activities such as washing up, setting the tables or gardening to making crafts and building models.
Our Garden
At Regents Court, we have newly revamped our garden, turning it into a sensory garden with lots of colours, smells and different textures to touch as well as taste. We have a fish pond which adds visual effects in addition to the sound of the water features.
We have a wooden pavilion which provides shade in the warmer month as well as a seating area. We host our own summer fetes with lots of traditional games, bric–a–brac and cake stalls as well as a barbecue; all the money raised goes towards taking the residents on trips.
We also have a green house which is used for potting and planting, as well as raised flower beds around the garden, to allow residents to plant flowers etc without having to bend down.
Out and About
During the warmer months, many of the residents enjoy a trip down to the local town centre, to do a bit of shopping, have a cup of tea and a piece of cake in the cafe and just to have a nice walk.
We also organise regular trips to attractions such as the Black Country Museum, the Sealife Centre and local parks and garden centres.
